Cutaway Lobe Pumps
Lobe pumps are used widely in industries where sanitation, efficiency and reliability are important and to pump solids without damage. Lobe pumps are positive displacement pumps that use two non-contacting rotors that create a vacuum at the inlet to raw in the pumped medium.
The medium is then pushed around the inside of the pump casing to the outlet. Timing gears prevent the rotors from making contact, allowing the pumping of non-lubricating materials.
The CPU-LP cutaway lobe pump uses a new industrial lobe pump, cut away to clearly show the inlet, outlet, rotors, gearbox and shafts, allowing students to easily visualise pump operation and identify the main pump components.
