Cutaway Vane Pumps
Vane pumps are a type of positive displacement pump that use sliding vanes mounted in a circular rotor, set eccentrically inside a larger circular chamber. As the rotor turns, the vanes move in and out of the rotor to maintain contact with the chamber, creating vane chambers that force fluid out of the pump as their volume changes.
Vane pumps are typically used in high-pressure applications such as hydraulic systems and as a vacuum pump in a wide range of applications such as air conditioning systems.
The CPU-VA series of cutaway vane pumps uses new industrial vane pumps, cut away to clearly show the inlet, outlet, rotor, vanes and seals, allowing students to easily visualise pump operation and identify the main pump components.
